FAQ
Can French doors be double glazed?
Absolutely.
According to your needs and personal preferences, our doors can be manufactured with single glazing, double glazing, or even triple glazing. Whatever glazing you choose, you will be pleased to know that your new PVC French doors will be wholly lead-free and UV stabilised, ensuring they’re environmentally friendly and suitable for the Australian climate.
Are double glazed french doors worth it?
If you’re wondering whether double glazed french doors are worth the extra cost, we would have to say yes. While you might expect us to say that, there are some very good reasons for spending a little more on double glazed doors.
What is a double glazed French door?
Firstly, they offer much better thermal and acoustic insulation, helping to make your home more peaceful and energy-efficient. Secondly, they provide more security than single glazed doors – double glazed panes are much harder to break. Thirdly, they are virtually maintenance-free, which means that with a bit of regular cleaning, they’ll look as good in ten or twenty years as they did on the day they were installed. Our French doors – double glazed or triple glazed – are an excellent investment as far as most homeowners are concerned.
What are French windows?
French windows have a double-sashed window that allows you to open the sashes inwardly or outwardly, depending on your preference. They are designed not to have a central post or mullion between the panes to offer an unobstructed view from your room. The individual sashes are fixed to the frame with hinges located on the sides of the windows, and they have separate locks that fix within the frame, allowing them to be opened or closed independently.
